Marie Hattar brings more than 18 years of industry experience to her role as Vice President of Smart Grid Solutions Marketing at Cisco. She is responsible for setting and developing a strategic vision that integrates routing, switching and security solutions to help organizations operate more efficiently and effectively through sustainable IT.

In addition, Hattar is a member of the Cisco Smart Grid Board. Composed of Cisco executive leaders across multiple functional areas, the group charts Cisco's policy and product development around smart grid initiatives.

Throughout her career, Hattar has held leadership roles in product marketing, product management, software engineering, competitive intelligence, and finance. She has been instrumental in building security and network architectures for leading Fortune 500 companies.

An industry expert in data communications, convergence, and security, Hattar was previously chair of the Broadband Content Delivery Forum and is co-author of IP Services at the Network Edge published by Addison-Wesley.

She holds a master's degree in business administration in marketing from York University and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto.
