The Grid ComForum East will be held at The McKimmon Conference and Training Center, located on the North Carolina State University campus. The McKimmon Center is only a 20 minute ride to the Research Triangle Region, where 170 of the planet's most far-reaching institutions share the same approximate coordinates.

Driving Directions

Raleigh-Durham Airport to The McKimmon Center

Raleigh-Durham International Airport is about a 20 minute (13 mile) ride away from The McKimmon Center. Raleigh-Durham International Airport offers passengers a variety of transportation options, ranging from taxi and limousine service to rental cars and shuttle buses. RDU offers connections to local bus and train stations.

Raleigh-Durham Airport to The Marriott

From I-40, head towards Raleigh. Take exit 298B- South Saunders Street towards downtown. Merge onto S. Saunders, 401 North. Continue on 401 North, then turn right onto Lenoir Street. The parking garage will be on the left entrance side of the hotel off Lenoir Street. For valet parking, continue past the parking garage entrance and turn left onto Fayetteville Street.

From West
From I-40 traveling east from airport. Take Gorman Street Exit #295. Turn left onto Gorman Street. Go approximately 1 mile. The McKimmon Center is on the right past Avent Ferry Road, before Western Boulevard.

From East
From I-40 traveling west take Gorman Street Exit #295. Turn right onto Gorman Street. Go approximately 1 mile. The McKimmon Center is on the right past Avent Ferry Road, before Western Boulevard.

Taxi Service

The Terminal 1 taxi dispatch booth is located on the curb near Southwest Airlines. The Terminal 2 dispatch booth is located on the curb on the terminal's lower level. Handicap vans are available. The Authority recommends making a reservation prior to your arrival.

Expect to pay around $30 for a taxi fare from the airport to The McKimmon Center.

Parking at The McKimmon Center

Visitor/guest parking is designated by distinctive green striping. Parking in the front lots of the McKimmon Center is free and usually plentiful. The smaller parking lots on each side of the center with white stripes are reserved for University employees only.

Visitors are asked to park in the green-lined designated visitor parking spaces in order to avoid ticketing.
